The Practice:

We are a (deliberately) small, busy practice. Our focus is on lameness diagnosis & treatment and chronic pain management for a diverse caseload of family pets, doddering geriatrics, and competition or working dogs. On a typical appointment day, we might see Ms. Brown’s beloved couch potato at 9 am, followed by an avalanche rescue dog or World Agility champion at 10.

We offer radiographic and ultrasound MSK imaging, regenerative medicine (BMAC, PRP, ADSC), and basic orthopedic surgical procedures (TPLO etc.), as well as rehabilitation therapy.

Our People:

Our veterinary sports medicine practice was started by primary veterinarian and owner, Dr David Lane, who is an ACVSMR.  Shortly after opening, we welcomed Dr Carla Wilkie, who works part-time using manual therapy, acupuncture, and rehab with her caseload focused on geriatric care.  Our newest unicorn, Dr Natalie Yoguel, joined PEW last year, bringing her knowledge and skills in acupuncture, rehab, and a special interest in neurological cases. Our RVT’s, Jen, Shay and Nicole, and assistant, Kaylyn, are all excellent at what they do, and are empowered daily to utilize their exceptional skills and knowledge. We all share a love for dark humour, fresh baked cookies, and helping animals feel better.

Our new associate must share at least two of these three loves, and the cookies one is negotiable.

Our Values:

We work hard, but we retain a very healthy work-life balance. This starts with utilizing Fear Free practices with all of our clients and in-hospital patients. We also treat each other as equal human beings, and use our grownup conflict resolution skills when needed. We don’t take after hours emergency calls. We have an AMAZING clientele, with zero tolerance for clients who are rude to any of the staff. No exceptions!

Why? Because life is short, our relationships with our dogs, family and friends are important, and outdoor recreating is fun.
